woke up today to our landlord and thom testing the smoke alarms. went into central after all that so people could buy paint and clothes and things. afterwards we came back and as our shower is currently broken (it started leaking through the floor below it) joe decided to have a hose down in the garden. it was hilarious and he pretty much went blue. hero.

later we had our second bbq of the week whilst donning our best shirts to add a spot of glamour to the occasion that was steak. my camera also decided to start displaying an er 99 message - fuck. anyone who owns a canon knows how worrying this is. its like being told i might have to have a hand amputated.

the royal wedding was horrible, it was hard to move around, an early start, and annoying because we didnt get a good spot and ended up comparing sneezes in hyde park. the afternoon was much better, good conversations, good food and good music that looks set to continue into the night. i think a trip into central is planned for tomorrow, however, the chances of me waking up on the brighter side of 12pm is a different matter entirely.

and back up to london we went. the journey was hot and cramped but the mcdonalds halfway through and cougar spotting in chelsea made up for that.

came back to good old 171 and what seems like a massive monitor and clunky keyboard after using laptops for the past couple of weeks. took this on the way to asda to get milk and bread and pizza. mmm pizza.

royal wedding tomorrow, that should be chaotic.

Lidl

went to see dragon (granny) and grandad today. just had a nice chat about everything and heard all their funny stories of when our dad was young and the last time granny was drunk.

ive been wanting to go and take this photo of the new lidl in bridport for some time, i really really like those kind of white lights. so much more interesting than tungsten. also im going back to london tomorrow so i wanted to take it before i went back and forgot all about it.

looking forward to being back at 171 tomorrow and of course the best bit about going to or from london - a fleet mcdonalds.

posted merch orders today. later we celebrated charlies actual birthday, watched him open presents and messed about on spacehoppers. see joe above. birthdays when you're young are so much fun.

in other news, ive been thinking about maybe making a proper book of all the photos i take this year once its over, like a proper nice premium paper ridden art book. is this something people would be interested in?

going back to london soon in time to cover the royal wedding. i dont know how im even going to start planning that. apparently the westboro baptist church might be picketing, so i'll make sure im there at least.

went to grandma and grandads for a bbq today, it was very hot, as was the weather... da dun crash

then we went to see dad. we had more food and i watched some bats flying about in his garden as it got dark. bats are my new favorite animals. i also took this self portrait in his bathroom mirror, i just liked the shape of the mirror and the blue and everything. it looks dated.

i think this is maybe the first actual self portrait of the project? i dont do them much. but yeah thats what i look like most of the time, otherwise im either looking at things or sleeping.

Easter

today we celebrated easter sunday in our garden, it was super hot but i avoided the rays by coating myself in sun block. safety first kids.

we had dinner and stuff under the gazebo, played badminton, had an easter egg hunt and chucked some sticks at the dog. then me and joe stuck our heads in the sink full of cold water. if you're ever hot and uncomfortable and ergh then do that, its very refreshing, also you can pretend you're being held under water by some angry interrogator in spooks.

i decided to bring back the whole photo montage thing today as there were just too many photos that i wanted to use, i might make this a more regular thing.

the gazebo putting up went ok, some of the poles had lost their numbers though so that took a while. the party itself was ace, all the kids had fun hitting the pinata (i has no sqiggly thing) and running about being excited.

easter sunday tomorrow. we're keeping the gazebo up as some of jps family are coming round for food and stuff, theres going to be an easter egg hunt as well. my egg better be hard to find, if i dont have to climb a tree i'll be disappointed.

party bags lined up ready for my little brothers birthday party tomorrow. hes so excited. (we so excited...)

i have help put up the gazebo again, gods sake. other than that it should be a good day, mum and jp have got some good games and stuff planned. when i was 5 id have been well up for it.

i would like to do something tonight, instead i'll probably end up watching more of michele roux's service; a program where people that have never been waiters before try and be waiters in really expensive restaurants. one girl asked someone if they wanted a glass of prosciutto (ham) instead of prosecco (italian sparkling white wine). so good.

bristol zoo was ace. the kea you see above and the bats were the best bit for me. ive never seen bats so close and theyre big man. like cute and big. one nearly wee'd on a lady as well.

obviously there were the typical red faced, angry crying kids being dragged around by the ankles with half an ice cream stuck in their hair, but once you get past that, it is a really cool place. i debated going into insect world but at the last minute decided against it, in case you didn't know, i really really do not enjoy spiders. we did go into reptile world though and i snapped this cheeky lizard, he came close to being the photo today but i just liked how regal the kea looked.

today i went to the bank, failed to sort out my overdraft extension, swore in the street and got looked at by a lady, mowed the lawn, went to morrisons twice, had an argument with a tree whilst mowing the lawn, took a photo of joe jumping out of my bedroom window and got bitten by some midges.

tomorrow the family (minus joe) are going to bristol zoo. hopefully this will involve less tree arguments and considerably less animal bites.

hung around today at home and tried to speed up mums laptop as it is well and truly clogged. just to give you an idea, when i clicked to add or remove programs, it took around ten minutes for the list to populate.

got an email telling me that i received a mark of 78% for my interview article, although apparently i dont use full stops enough, he is right, i use commas way too much.

went to portland skatepark today with phil, tim and joe. it was really really sunny so taking photos of radical skating was made difficult by shadows. i couldnt be bothered to get a flash out. lazy.

got a mcdonalds afterwards and won some small chips on the monopoly thing, after also claiming a sundae from a previous victory. wegotherewaytoomuch

skating at portland always leaves you with a horribly dry combination of beach hair and concrete hands, as its a concrete skatepark right by the beach. it feels like the pores in my skin have been polyfillered.

mum and charlie watered the plants and veg in the garden today, it was very sunny. i finally jumped out of my bedroom window into our garden, ive been meaning to do that since we moved in, it was higher than it looked.

watching the 100 best magic tricks, some of these guys are nuts. however the 'comedians and amature magicians' commenting on them are really quite unfunny.

hopefully going to portland skatepark tomorrow and finally sorting my overdraft.

joe came back from the lake district today. also mum took in the new green cords she bought me from h&m today, as i only took one pair of trousers home with me. theyre cooler than they sound, honest.

going out in bridport tonight (woo yeahhh). should be very uneventful and relatively cheap, so im happy with that.

friday friday, gotta get down on... oh has that gotten old now? sorry internet.

my little brother really is the best person to practice portraits with. endless posing, shouting and drool everywhere, lens included.

hung around the house for most of the day after getting up at 7am (wakin' up in the morning...) and watched kids tv shows and robot wars; brilliant, although craig charles' black leather, tassle ridden jacket looks even more ridiculous in 2011.

looking after little brother is finished now though, so i can sleep in like hell tomorrow. screw you and your relentless morning regimes rebecca black.

barclays was closed thanks to a powercut caused by a fire at 5.30 that shut off power to the whole street, i heard the sirens and everything but i didnt get up. im such a bad photojournalist sometimes.

also the show in bournemouth with brontide got cancelled, sucks.

had a pizza at tims and went to robs to watch football on his massive hd tv, you can literally see into peoples skin, its gross / amazing.

my bedding situation down here in bridport, pretty comfy. also ive taken the duvet out of the sheet, partly because its too hot and partly because its nicer to sleep on it as the matress is kind of springy. and yes that is a copy of catcher in the rye (thanks lauren). anyone that says holden caufield is an unrecognised genius is wrong, hes just a bit of a selfish arsehole really.

i havent done much today. washed my hair and stuff. bought some chocolate muffins. had some nice dinner.

going to go and see if barclays want to extend my overdraft tomorrow, i really really hope they do.

went to the beach today for the first time this year. it was full of typical tourists, fat hairy people fingering questionable parts of each other on the beach and burnt men in umbro shorts sporting wobbly british flag tattoos.

headed over to the new skatepark on portland afterwards. there was a fairground behind it and that next to the blissfully clean, smooth concrete just looked so visually impressive as it got dark. im going to go back and take some proper photos sometime.

rhia bought me a mcdonalds afterwards and we had a chat about general stuff on the way home, it was nice. we always have very headclearing chats.

none of us have any money so the traditon (a year old) of group grand national silly betting was replaced by football playing. a bit less exciting but equally as sweaty.

today me and joe went to see dad, i havent seen him for ages and it was cool to catch up with him. he is such a hilariously laid back father; we found a mouse in the kitchen behind his microwave and all three of us tried to catch it, it got away but he seemed happy for it to live behind the boiler from now on. he also confused the words dubstep and twitter into the hilarious 'budgiestep'.

if i can turn out like him then i'll be happy.

today i took a six man tent down all by myself, helped cook dinner, helped with the washing up, bought some vitamin C chewy things, kept my eyes peeled for spiders creeping up on me, snapped a glowstick in half, got florescent liquid everywhere and took part in a good, practical discussion regarding the wonders of mobius strips after dinner (g33k family).
