woke up early and did some posting and some underwear buying. then i got a train to hatfield and had a chinese buffet. i won a bet. it was the best thing ever, apart from the man who completely monopolised the prawn tray each time it was refreshed. seriously like, theyre supposed to be for everyone dude.

i think we are halloweening tonight (again). funny to think i did nothing last year and this year i will have done two things, and actually dressed up...

so yeah, last night we went to this halloween party thing at this abandoned uni building, its being looked after by this building company that effectively pays people to squat there and keep it nice. its eerie.

i wasnt so into the whole party side of things but i was quite into the looking around and investigating all the little bits side of things, so thats what i did.

i was also wearing masking tape all over my face and it seemed to scare quite a lot of people. some people were actually kind of hostile towards it and felt it was a bit much, i thought scary things was what halloween was all about? obviously not...

i went to morrisons to buy some week food. i got fish fingers and eggs and mushrooms and stuff. im getting abit bored of chips.

171 and some of its add ons are going to a halloween party tonight. it should be interesting.

i have pretty much been on the computer all day listening to music and eating oranges. not eating oranges on the computer, like, eating them in real life.

we went to rhias house last night as it was her birthday. and naturally celebrations, drinking and categories needed to be had, done so responsibly and won.

i had to be back in london by ten thirty at the latest. i wanted time to go home and everything before uni though so i woke up at 6.30am and trained it back. i arrived in very good time. theres something really nice about having time to hang out and wake up a bit before uni, i think i might do this more often.

i got home and made some chips, listened to emilys mix cd and ate an orange. i also watched the last two episodes of spooks ever. i didnt cry, but they did destroy me emotionally. rip ruth

woke up and went to sleep and woke up and went to sleep. when i eventually got out of bed and i received a much needed hair cut from emily, i look much less like a drug addled homeless person now. i also have a moustache in preparation for movember, im starting early this year.

we bused, we goodbyed. i finally got a new swipey uni student card and arrived in class just in time to have pictures critiqued. he liked my favourite one, this hasnt happened before. ever.

after that i went for a loner mcdonalds and rather uncomfortably observed some maybe 5 year old girls singing that rhianna song about whether a certian 'rude boi' can 'get it up' or not. displeasing.

today i went over to old st pauls place to check out the occupy london protest going on there. its pretty huge and covers a lot of ground. id say there were 100+ tents there at least.

ran / tubed / lucked it to film studies in time to watch 'man with a movie camera'. i expect at the time it was amazing and considered completely groundbreaking, however sixty seven minutes of what looks like random black and white footage with a jolty soundtrack behind it these days is somewhat boring.

we woke up at much more relaxing time of 12 oclock after eating dry fruit and fibre and chocolate orange all night. we had mushroom, onions and beans on toast to pack us full of stuff for the journey to london.

went to barclays, faced some fears, swung on a scaffolding pole twice, got a new railcard. yeah

i think we are eating pizza now and then going out to some hip place in shoredtich later (obl... )

today i woke up and hung out with alan and got a scary email about a presentation that i hadnt done. i did the presentation and then ate some slices of cold pizza.

i got a winter coat from a shop and then met emily from work and then came back and had curry and then joey re did my 171 tattoo with a proper gun and now it looks less prisony (still <3 u tho matt).

i woke up and saw another mystery wasp and told em about it and now i know i didnt dream it last time. then i woke up again. and then i woke up again.

me ad joey had bacon sandwiches and watched dragons den and then some other things id rather not talk about. then we went and met alan and emily and had MORE food then walked home and scared some kids with sparklers.

today we all woke up way too early and turned my room into a kind of studio / practice space in order to film a little video for le band with mr alan clarkson. it was hot and sweaty and somewhat more foul smelling than i would have liked but we got everything done and wrapped at about half past two. woop!

we're playing at powerlunches with run, WALK! tonight and then im going to hatfield for a day or two and letting some swedish people stay on my floor. they are a band, not just swedish people.

in other news i think i may have pulled / sprained / twisted / hurt my right hand and wrist. life

i slept through my alarm this morning, i feel annoyed at myself about it because i still havent been to contextual studies yet and laurie said it was good last week. next week for sure.

phil joe me and tim went to asda and then to the currys / pc world mega dome store. its HUGE. this is technically another photo in the me and my friends infront of a computer i cannot afford series during this project. i havent done one for about a year.

i stayed up way too late last night making a mix cd for emily. i also made a nice printed slipcase and put it all together and everything. i am proud.

i woke up this morning and got some new shoes through the door. they have fleece inside them... yeah FLEECE. winters going to be warm this year.

did uni and got told alot of my photos were wrong and then saw exactly the same mistakes in our tutors examples of how we should be doing it... always good.

made an omelette in our completely redesigned and re atmosphered kitchen. its gone from rotting waste land to serene living room in less than a day. this happens alot in our house.

going to see we came out like tigers and some other bands tonight, im excited.

after waking up annoyingly late and sleeping very well i went into central london to really really try and get some useable photos to present tomorrow for our 'a man at work' project thing. this was my favourite. rogers going to hate all of them and i only have three, god damn.

its really really cold. winter is definitely coming. i havent cut my hair in a long time and tim said i look like a drug addled tramp, i dont know if this is 'cool' or not.

today i went to a bank and talked to someone about maybe changing from my current bank to the bank i was in. they said okay and told me what i needed to do. im going to do this.

i walked for a while and had a loner mcdonalds. then i listened to nick from actionaid talk to me about actionaid, and i in turn talked to him about my current financial situation and life. i think its the first time ive ever actually felt like i was being the annoying person in one of those situations.

i walked some more and found myself in a rather picturesque st james park. i angered some geese and nearly stepped on a squirrel so left and walked some more to get a bus, i took the above photo on the way.

i was supposed to be getting photos for the little project we have to do this week on the subject 'a man at work'. this would be fine if we had more than one week to complete it / it was a project that i actually cared about / felt inspired by / had a well thought through brief / meant something to me. men are at work. they work. i know im being facetious.

i saw this poster on the way to the post office today, i dont know what its for or why its there but i liked it. i wanted to hug it.

i looked into renewing my passport and talked to a rather angry scottish man on the phone about it for ten minutes or so. he acted like i also worked at the passport office and asked me why i hadnt read the website, i had, its just that all of the directgov web pages are pretty much the most confusing, patience sapping things of all time. anyway, after 11 ctrl t's and some sarcasm i managed to sort it out.

i had pizza for dinner. i feel better.

i had weird fevery dreams last night but i feel a little better today. the water and oranges helped. ive had about a weeks worth of vitamin c in the past 24hrs.

trying to sum up everything that has happened in the past week in one post is just impossible. so i am going to use a selection of single names, words, things, and phrases instead of banging on for ages. make of it what you will.

ive missed loads of things but in summary it was fucking awesome.

yesterday the tangled tour hit edinburgh, the show was good. the smallest venue so far on the tour and my god was it loud. great fun though. all the bands were amazing and veils blew my mind again.

later on we went to tonights travel lodge ( thanks timmmmm ) and then went back out to this club / pub / bar called the rat pack. pretty much everyone was there and everyone had a good time, even if it did end up with tangled talk records and almost all of its roster getting asked nicely to leave...

sheffield tomorrow and the last date of the tour, boooooooo. long drives. im going to sleep well tonight. i am tired.

leeds was a blast. super sweaty and super loud. all the other bands were on top form. it was the first time i'd seen the whole of veils' set and they blew me away, so good.

afterwards we got pizza from this shop that did 11" ones for only £3.00. wut. then we followed bastions to a nice little travel lodge and it is where we are sleeping tonight. its going to be so nice to sleep in a bed again. i cant wait.

my eyes hurt. tour is great. people are great.

things are going better today. we went through the peak district on the way to leeds and stopped in the mist. it was wet but it was lovely and fresh northern air did us all some good.

chris bought some funny white shoes in wrexham, i bought some new colour film, tim bought some trousers and we bought the micra some new brake pads and discs. money money money

we arrived in leeds and played some basketball with veils, good fun. i sunk a three pointer on the third attempt.

southampton was awesome. the sound was probably too good and the venue was absolutely packed out. if the rest of the shows are anything like last nights then i will be very very happy.

today i cycled into uni, ate an egg and cress sandwich, sat in a room for a few hours whilst getting bitten by lauren and watching our lecturer work out how to use a computer, cycled home, ate some food and then did this.

today i started my second year of university, it dosent seem like a whole year ago since i started my first blah blah blah yeah yeah we've all heard it get a life and go and do something else.

but yeah that happened. we sat through another induction, then went to the SU bar (probably one of the most stark, bleak and horrific places that you could choose to sit in for any extended period of time) and played with cameras and laughed at first years playing awkward get to know you games and watched james exercise his new found authority over tolga as seen here.

i cycled to asda and bought some pizza. i helped fold some t shirts and then masking taped them and labelled them for tour. i ate some pizza. i listened to some music. i may or may not have another pizza later.

today i left hatfield and came back to london. i had an awesome time there, it mainly consisted of pizza and spray paint and walking and leaves and mcdonalds and beds and films and warmth and friendly people. i think i will be there again in the future.

i got on the tube back through london and sat opposite a man who managed to eat no less than eight sandwiches in between bank and borough whilst drinking a can of holsten pils. then i helped a man work out how to use an oyster card, he was trying to scan / insert it into the ticket machine by the bus stop. then i went to the bank. then i bought two new pens. then i made some food and then this happened.

my hands hurt alot after practice last night, we got everything done though and the sets sounding pretty alright. this is good

the drive back was very long and sweaty but not being charged for mcdonalds and a fat sunburnt man in nothing but a t shirt and green boxer shorts made up for it. just another thing to add to the list of bizarre things ive seen at fleet services.

i think im going to complete this good weekend and visit an alan and an emily tonight at their home. neither of them are online though and o2 has been down all day. dun dun dunnnnnn

after failing to start the barbecue traditionally we gave in a bought a burny bag thing from morrisons. so much easier and quicker. more fun too. theres nothing quite like instant flames.

its very hot today and we have a long band practice ahead of us later, i think i will be in my boxer shorts for the majority of it. how is this october?

i want more lemonade and i just ordered some new band stickers for tour that feature pornography from the 1960's.
