Happy birthday andinmyhandsacamera!

canon eos 40d, tokina 12-24mm lens, sigma flash, tripod

its andinmyhandsacamera's first birthday today!
a year ago today i started this blog, its gone fast but 24 followers and 144 posts later here we are.
thanks so much if you read this regularly, i honestly dont think i could have made it a whole year without the feedback / nagging that people have given me.
i felt as though todays picture should be somewhat special, so naturally i mashed a celebratory cupcake into my face....
at the time it seemed like an awesome idea, but i quickly realised that operating a camera with sticky cupcake hands gets very messy.
new layout and stuff should be up later, heres to another year.

uni was tiring and cold and i managed to sleep through the post man knocking on my door to deliver my new phone this morning.

however rhia has lent me her copy of phillip pullmans 'The Amber Spyglass' so i can finally finish it, which is lovely.
we also had a lecture about the cold war and how it started, i enjoyed that.

Clowns

canon eos 40d, tokina 12-24mm lens, on camera flash diffused with finger

last night we all went to molly and anna's flatwarming party, it was cool.
the theme was clowns and i did not make the effort in the slightest.
molly, anna, chris and a few others did dress up and they all looked completely amazing.
its coming up to andinmyhandsacamera's first birthday, i have a page revamp ready with more up to date things and links and stuff.
should be good.

Peg face

canon eos 40d, tokina 12-24mm lens, sigma flash

last night we decided to try and fit as many pegs on tims face as possible.
i think his face was quite swollen when i saw him this morning but i haven't seen him since, poor tim.
course is going good, most of the induction stuff is finally over although if i ever get talked through another course handbook i'll kill myself.

1st day

canon eos 40d, tokina 12-24mm lens, sigma flash

today was my first day of my life for the next three years.
i am now partaking in a degree in photojournalism at the LCC in london.
as part of the 'icebreaking' process we we're asked to pair up with someone and go out and take some portraits of them, i was with georgina and she has mental red long hair, so i suggested she wrap it round her face like a scarf.
im really happy with this photo.
the course seems awesome, still doing all the induction stuff though so obviously thats a bit boring / tedious, once thats all over it will start to be fun.

Holy ghost

canon eos 40d, tokina 12-24mm lens

about a week ago me and some friends went to a small exhibition at 'the other space' in a pub in south london.

it was an exhibition of work by a collective known as 'Holy Ghost' they run a pretty awesome blog that mainly focuses on artistic still photography and has artists contributing from all over the place, if youre into that kind of thing check it out, you will like it.

the telephone above was really cool, it would play different conversations and stuff when you pressed each number and there were also loads of plane spotting photos.
